The rehabilitation period is very fast. The patient is admitted one day prior to the surgery and the surgery is done together. Both the joints are operated in the same sitting. So, the patient doesn't have to get admitted two times. He doesn't have to go pre operative checkups two times. Doesn't have to take antibiotics twice. The time physiotherapy is also saved.
The surgery itself takes about 25-30 minutes for one side. So, within an hour both the joints are operated, both sides are operated. After the operation, patient is kept one day under surgical recovery.
The anaesthesia which is used is just spinal anaesthesia and epidural anaesthesia so patient can actually check with this during the operation also.
